Information on D & M Sounds
D & M Sounds is a
family owned disc jockey establishment based on giving the public a good means
of topping off the ultimate party or event with superior quality entertainment.
We base our prices on the premise that you will call on us again for many of
your most important events to come. This company is owned and operated by Donny
& Melissa Ruemke, lifetime residents of the
Donny Ruemke has an extensive musical background. In the
town of
Donny left Constant Motion to pursue
another endeavor, He was hired by "Sterling
Country", another country / rock band as their sound and light engineer
because of his superior sound studio electronics knowledge as well as his acute
ear for music and the physics of equipment placement for optimum sound coverage
at different venues.
During his employment with Sterling
Country, Donny started performing and singing harmony vocals with the group.
During this time in 1992, Donny was
certified with the Federal Communications Commission and became a part time
Disc Jockey with K.T.A.E. 1260 AM where his dream really took off.
In September of 1993, Donny met
Melissa in a dance club in
In April of 1994, the processes were
set into motion to officially place D & M Sounds on the map as a provider
of quality entertainment.
In June 1994, after graduating high
school, Donny left Sterling Country to start his adult life. He was employed by
the Texas Department Of Public Safety in September 1994, Melissa was employed
with the Department of Public Safety in July 1992. He married Melissa in
December 1995. In March of 2005, Donny left the DPS to start a career in mobile
electrical/electronic systems with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). In September 2005, Melissa left the DPS to start a
career in Technology Infrastructure Management with the Texas Department of
Transportation. In November 2006, Donny promoted within TxDOT to now oversee
the purchase, sale, maintenance & repair over 600 pieces of equipment for
the agency.
Donny needed to start a mobile disc
jockey service to fill a void in his life that he had while he was not in the
professional music scene, so Melissa & Donny started D & M Sounds. With
Donny's expertise in Audio & Visual electronics and Melissa's knowledge of
the latest music on the scene, owning their own professional disc jockey
service turned out to be a huge success.
Donny & Melissa fully
implemented D & M Sounds in December 1995, The mission is to have the best
product (the ultimate in sound & lighting), at the very best price. We have
kept that mission alive and will be alive for years to come. There will not be
a more professional service at a better price!
With D & M Sounds,

D &
M Sounds has a large selection of music, at present count of approximately
7000 titles from various artists. These range from Country, Pop, Rock, Fifties,
Sixties, Seventies, Eighties, Nineties, Rap, Polkas, Waltzes, Contemporary,
Comedy, Classical and Instrumental. Where our focus is on Top 40 Country and
Pop / Rock, we have the selection to fit almost any event.
We DO NOT have a wide selection
of Tejano/Latin, Ethnic music that is not in the
English language, or Contemporary Christian. Please contact D & M Sounds

Technical Specifications for D & M Sounds
Sound - We didn't cut corners,
True Stereo Separation sets us apart from the rest!
Speakers- All speakers are
patented BOSE Professional Acoustimass System consisting of 4 series #802 speakers and
2 series #302 bass enclosures, totaling 32 four and one-half inch full range
speakers with the compliment of 4 twelve-inch bass speakers.
The new edition of the Peavey Professional DTH-218
Low-Frequency enclosure, consisting of 2 #1888 HP Black Widow X eighteen inch
sub woofers, ensures the experience of being at the concert. It's truly
"music you can feel!"
Power- The power for this
awesome system comes from 3 QSC MX1500 series amplifiers. These amplifiers are capable of
producing 3500 watts of thunderous power for coverage in almost any venue.
Other
system components include: Computers by HP, compact disc players by JVC & Sony, cassette players by Denon, mixing consoles by Gemini, equalizer by ART, crossover by Ashly, sound enhancement by BOSE & Peavey, and
feedback suppression by Behringer.
Lighting -No corners here either, Automated Intelligent Lighting is
the best!
We have
lighting from various manufactures such as Lightwave Research, Roland & American DJ.
The pride of our light show is the High End Systems / Lightwave Research fully intelligent lighting system that
contains 3 trackspot automated luminaries and 1
universal controller. This system in itself contains 8 richly saturated dichroic colors plus color corrector and open (White)
position along with 9 different designs (gobo) that can be projected onto
floors, walls (etc.) The trackspots also have a
strobe effect. This system is also capable of being used as a followspot for that professional look of being "In the
spotlight." This is especially favorable at wedding receptions, school
dances, and events that have the romantic "spotlight dance." Teamed

massive 16-inch glass mirror ball with PAR 46 halogen light. (The trackspot automated luminaries can be positioned to reflect
its entire color and design array onto the mirror ball). We also have 2
helicopter lights for that 70's retro feel and a high-powered strobe system to
compliment the trackspots.

This is the
information we've all been waiting for. All of our quotes and bookings are as

Our prices start
as low as $550.00 for the following***.

subject to change without notice. Extra charge for extended travel.)
4 hours of music.
Sound and Lighting.
We'll play the music you want us to play
(And won't play the stuff you don't want us to
play)
Announcing of events / items during night.
We take requests.
If you wish to continue
you party after 4 hours, we can keep your crowd dancing the night away for an
hourly rate! (Just ask us before we end the night, and we can continue the fun
without interruption, 'till you wish to shut it down!)
We can make
substitutions on equipment and performance time.
We'll make your friends wish they hired us for all their special
events too!!!
There is a new billing rule
in effect... D & M Sounds now requires all outstanding balances be paid
BEFORE D & M Sounds begins the dance. Due to a problem with businesses not
paying D & M Sounds in this fashion. We implemented this rule to insure
proper payment.
Businesses

If you
need a bill to turn into your accounting department to have a check processed.
Please inform us so we can send you a bill and then you will have your payment
to give to D & M Sounds before the night begins.
We are sorry for the inconvenience, but
due to very long transaction times, we have no choice but to implement this
rule.
There will be a $100.00
retainer required on all dates booked with D & M Sounds, which will be
subtracted from the balance due from your event. This is due to so many people
booking an event, then not following through with their event, we have no
choice but to implement this rule. When you book an event with D & M
Sounds, you will be asked to send a $100.00 retainer to hold that date for you.
So many people are asking for our services that we need this system to insure
that you have us booked for your event.

Once that you
have confirmed with D & M Sounds that the day is available, you must send
in the $100.00 retainer fee as soon as possible. D & M Sounds will remove
your requested date if we haven't received the $100.00 retainer within 45 days
of first contact.
*** The $100.00 retainer fee is NOT
refundable! ***
The remainder of the amount(s) received will
be refunded ONLY at the discretion of D & M Sounds.
We DO NOT accept any credit cards
(Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) of any
kind. We
only accept CASH, Personal or Business Checks & Money Orders. We do not accept credit
cards because there are fees that D & M Sounds would have to pay to the
credit card institutions and then we would have to pass that cost on to our
clients.
*** Read the
Fine Print...
In the event that D & M Sounds,
prior to performance of this agreement, due to extreme weather conditions,
injurious casualty, or other act of God, Is disabled, so that the same shall be
rendered unable to consummate the terms of this agreement; this agreement and
performance shall be considered void upon notification of contracting party to
the existence of any condition described herein. It is also agreed that the
terms of this clause shall be reciprocal to Contracting party. (Refunds of
deposit will be made at the discretion of D & M Sounds.)
If all above has been honored, D
& M Sounds will recontact you (via phone) 5 days
prior to performance date to see that you are still planning on having
performance and to review any details not already specified.
We reserve the right to
refuse service to anyone!
D & M
Sounds uses some of the most sophisticated sound and lighting equipment in the
industry today. D & M Sounds strive to have a "First Class"
production while keeping safety paramount. We have some safety information we
wish to disclose.
Sound: D & M Sounds uses
equipment that may produce very dangerous sound levels that may damage hearing.
D & M Sounds strive to keep that danger to an extremely low occurrence.
Please let us know if the music is TOO loud. We'll be glad to lower the volume!
Lighting: D & M Sounds uses
equipment that will produce very intense lighting situations. "Strobe
Lights" are in use. This equipment may be dangerous to persons who have epilepsy
or other health conditions of this manner. Please let us know so we can keep
lighting reduced to an acceptable level.
Theatrical Effects: D & M Sounds, at
some venues, utilizes theatrical smoke/fog to enhance lighting effects. The
theatrical smoke/fog used is a United States Food and Drug Administration (US
FDA) approved substance, that has no known health risks to humans. Even though
this effect is safe, some people may experience respiratory discomfort by
inhaling this smoke/fog. If you wish not to have this effect used at your
venue, please let us know and we WILL NOT use this effect as a part of our
production. This smoke/fog may engage fire alarm systems when used in vast
amounts. We use this effect in minute quantities over the period of the venue.
Please let us know if this is a concern you may have. We will be happy to make
a proper assessment of this situation and take appropriate action necessary to
prevent this occurrence.
